Bank Solutions

About Bank Solutions

A UK business-banking guide built from what the banks themselves publish - by a business owner who has opened, switched and run business accounts for every company he has started.

What this site is for

Choosing a business bank account is a ten-year decision that most people make in an afternoon, on the strength of a headline offer. Bank Solutions exists to make that afternoon better informed. We read each provider's own tariff and terms, record every fee with the page it came from and the date we read it, and lay the plans side by side so you can compare them on the facts.

We cover business accounts, opening & switching, payments & fx, lending & credit, open banking & software, guides, and a news desk for what the regulators and the banks announce. The centre of the site is the business account comparison; everything else explains it.

How we work

The full rules are in our editorial standards and the comparison methodology.

Who is behind it

Bank Solutions is written and edited by Sam Allcock, a British entrepreneur who has been a business owner since 2007. He founded and sold the SEO agency Custard (2007-2018) and the press-release service PR Fire (2008-2024), and today runs Domain Farm Ltd, Ascribed and Digital24. Across those companies he has opened, switched and operated business current accounts with high-street and challenger banks, and dealt with the account-opening checks and multi-currency payments that this site writes about. He is the author of How to Sell Digital Assets (2025).

What he is not. Sam is not a financial adviser, accountant or FCA-authorised person, and Bank Solutions does not give advice to individuals. Where a topic needs regulated expertise, we say so and point you to it.

Publisher

Bank Solutions is published by Domain Farm Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, number 13544286. Registered office: Vantage House, Euxton Lane, Euxton, Chorley, Lancashire PR7 6TB, United Kingdom. Domain Farm Ltd builds and runs specialist reference publications; it is not a bank, a broker or an FCA-authorised firm, and it has no ownership ties to any provider on this site.

How the site is funded

By Domain Farm Ltd, and by referral rewards from two providers - Tide and Wise - paid when a reader opens an account through a link that is labelled "Referral link" where it appears. No other provider pays us and no advertising is sold. Commercial relationships are disclosed on the page where they apply and never change which providers appear, how they are ranked or what we say about them. Details: how we make money.
