Bank Solutions

Editorial standards

Money pages are held to a higher standard, and should be. These are the rules every page on this site is written to.

Sources

Information, not advice

Bank Solutions publishes information and comparisons. It does not give financial advice, does not recommend a product for your circumstances, and is not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. We write in plain English about what providers publish and how the rules work; where a decision needs regulated advice - tax, lending, regulated investments - we say so and point you to it. Nothing on the site should be read as an inducement to open a particular account.

Who writes it

Every page carries a real byline or is attributed to Bank Solutions as an organisation. Author profiles state what the author is - and is not - qualified in, with public records linked so you can check. Our editor is a business owner writing from first-hand experience of business banking, not a financial adviser, and his profile says exactly that. Where a page draws on first-hand experience, the page says so.

Tools and human review

We use software, including AI tools, to monitor providers' pages for changes, to draft, and to check internal consistency. Nothing is published without the editor's review, and every figure is checked against its listed source by a person before publication. Pages generated directly from data with no separate editorial pass carry a notice saying so.

Independence

Commercial relationships, where they exist, are disclosed on the page and never influence which providers appear, how they are ordered or what is said about them. Providers do not see copy before publication and cannot pay to be included, excluded, moved or reworded. The full rules are on how we make money.

Images

Photographs are of the real subject or are not used. Library photographs carry a credit so you can see they are not photographs of the scene described. Provider logos are used as supplied by the provider, to identify them in a comparison, never to imply endorsement.

Corrections

If we have something wrong, write to editor@banksolutions.uk and tell us what and, if you can, where the correct figure is published. We check it against the source, correct the page, and add a dated note saying what changed. We do not correct silently. Where an error was material - a fee, a protection status, an eligibility rule - the note stays on the page.

Updates

Comparison rows show the date each was last read against its source and are re-checked at least monthly. Guides show a published date and, where they have been revised, an updated date. Older guides carry a notice reminding you to check the provider's current page before acting.

Complaints

If you believe we have breached these standards and a correction has not resolved it, write to the editor at the address above with "Complaint" in the subject line. You will get a reply from a person, and a decision, within ten working days.
